How can I search a Word document on my hard drive by keyword?
I tried the search function built into Windows Vista, and also in Google Desktop search. Neither of them will find every document on my hard drive that contains a given keyword (like "Shakespeare"). These programs just find SOME of the documents. Any suggestions? Thanks.
In Windows Vista you have to rebuild the search index - or at least check that all location where your documents are stored with the list of monitored folders. However, in Word you can click File / Open or whatever and then click Tools at the top right of the Open dialog box. You will then see the "search" at the top of the menu. It allows you to search for docs containing word keywords.
