Affliction Or Demonology For Leveling - Which Spec Is Better For Leveling A Warlock?

First of all I want to explain what Affliction and Demonology builds are. By the way, these are the most common builds in the phase of leveling. I don't recommend leveling as Destruction. At least from 1-70. Don't get me wrong, it has very good damage output, but it is way too much mana inefficient. So let us see, what do you benefit from any of the two basic leveling builds.

Affliction or Demonology for Leveling - What Affliction Really is?

Affliction talent tree is all about improving all the Damage Over Time (DoT) spells. It also improves life draining. So keep in mind that you can restore your mana by sacrificing health. So this feature is very good for leveling. Because you restore your mana basically by draining life from the enemies. This talent tree lacks a bit of spell power against one target. But when attacking multiple enemies at a time, this build shines with the full power.

Affliction or Demonology for Leveling - What about Demonology?

Demonology tree is pretty much about boosting your pets. It also have some good survivability features such as "Soul Link" (20% of received damage goes to the pet), and some Stamina boost, so you get a bit of extra HP. It also have some cool buffs to you and your pet (such as 10% spell crit). Survivability is a great thing while leveling. But I found out that being as affliction you are far more tough because of "Siphon Life" (you are healed for 40% of the damage done by Corruption spell).

Affliction or Demonology for Leveling - Conclusion.

From my experience the Affliction tree is a way to go. I tried them both, but I guarantee you that as Affliction you are going to level faster and more efficient than as demonology. Many quests require killing a lot of mobs. You should do like this: DoT as may mobs as possible Due to Siphon Life (When you deal damage with your Corruption spell, you are healed by for 40% of the damage done) you just cannot die. The more mobs you DoT, the more you are healed. You got the point? In extreme situations you can also use Sacrifice (Voidwalker's skill) to shield yourself. Affliction is also far more mana efficient than Demonology. So it means you almost don't need to dring to restore mana.

So the question "Affliction or Demonology for Leveling?". Definitely Affliction!
