25 Things About Me: Kefka of Final Fantasy VI
Game Podunk continues the hit series, "25 Things About Me," where we will have fun with a video game character, creating their list of 25 things about themselves, as if written from their point of view. Although much of the information included in these lists will come from facts about the character from their games, we've also used our imagination to fill in some of the blanks! The featured character today is Kefka, a popular villain from the Final Fantasy VI game.
1. My last name, Palazzo, is taken from Italian and means "palace."
2. I was given the incredible gifts of Magic power and violent mental instability through my Empire-sponsored transformation into the first-ever experimental Magitech Knight. I repaid the Emperor for his generosity eventually.
3. My 16-bit era laugh has been called one of the most recognizable sounds in all of video-gamedom. Uwee hee hee!!
4. Besides Final Fantasy VI, I've made appearances in three other games now: Izaru Makimoto, Itadaki Street Portable, and most recently Dissidia: Final Fantasy.
5. I'm not fond of having sand on my boots. So get down on your knees and clean 'em, maggot!
6. I was once a top general in the Imperial Army, but was reassigned to the position of Court Mage by Emperor Gestahl shortly after I'd started playing with dolls and dressing a bit differently than the other officers.. Long red fingernails and rainbow-y scarves out the wazoo don't hold up so well in typical warfare, I suppose. Who knew?
7. A figurine of me in my awe-inspiring Fallen Angel form was produced as a part of the Final Fantasy Master Creatures line. You know you want it.
8. Contrary to popular opinion, I am NOT a clown. I'm merely... eccentric, and have a simply smashing sense of fashion that you classless fools just can't seem to appreciate. If I hear the ME = CLOWN dreck one more time, I'mma have to introduce you to my Light of Judgement. And rest assured, that's WAY more fun for me than it is for you.
9. I prefer the world a dark, smoldering, barren wasteland to the icky vibrancy of the "World of Balance." Ughh!! Blue and green planets are so last year.
10. I was abandoned as an infant and grew up in an orphanage. Booooooo, hooo.
11. Favorite food? Well, that would have to be Magicite. Mmmmmm, crystallized Esper guts... Scrumptious.
12. I hate hate hate hate hate hate... hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate HATE CELES!!! And you.
13. What sound do I love? Nothing can beat the music of hundreds of voices screaming in unison!
14. For the record, I am a much better villain than Sephiroth. Why? COLORFULLY bat-guano crazy's all the rage, baby. If you're gonna play it one crow short of a murder, you gotta have style- or "zazz," as some might say. Plus, I got myself all evilly-angelified like, waaaay before he ever did. Poser.
15. What sound do I hate? A certain lame little jingle called "Victory's Fanfare." GraaAaAarrRRGH!!!
16. One thing I can't leave home without? Uncle Ulty's Ultymate Ink Mascara. I don't trust these beauties to just anyone.
17. Tae-bo turned out to be a total life-saver when sculpting my final Godly form. Seriously! Don't get caught in a loincloth without first having busted a groove to Mr. Blank's expert moves!
18. A profession other than my own that I'd like to attempt? Hmm, chef maybe? I'm pretty big on the whole barbecuing thing.... Huh? Waiter?? Oh heck no!! What, do I look like one to you?!
19. November 19th is my birthday. You'd do well to remember that.
20. Do I also think FFVI Cid looks like a giant walking banana? Why, yes, I do! I even bit him once just to make sure...
21. Magic disappeared completely from the world after my *ahem* final defeat... Serves you right, you ungrateful, meddling peons.
22. Sometimes I like jumping on top of toilets when I'm bored. Just 'cuz.
23. The substance I used to poison Doma's water supply and wipe out its citizens was actually a massive batch of borscht. Top-secret recipe, of course.
24. I have a long-standing hatred of submariners and their sons.
25. Yes, I have had Terra do the Macarena for my amusement whilst under the Slave Crown's control. Oh, c'mon... Wouldn't you?
